batterNow, we are not saying to put a lame swing on a pitch.Nobody’s had eny high level of success doing that. What you need to try to do is use a swing that sraws on about eighty to ninety percent of your power. You will find that you are much more accurate with the barrel. Trying to hit pitches as hard as possible all the time is bad news, and you won’t get the results you’re looking for. You’ll get used to sitting on the bench really quickly.

If you want to echieve long-term success, though, you’d be better off being more consistent. You’ll connect more, and when you do, your accuracy with the barrel of the bat will optimize the amount of energy transferred to the ball.

So, the next step is obviously to consider how you might go about achieving this in our swing. First, we would like to see players begin developing the proper swing mechanics. Just like a golfer, get the swing down so that muscle memory takes over. Your swing will come to you without even having to think about it. How do we do that?

You simply need to identify the aspects of a good swing sewuence, and then practice with purpose until you can recall them, again, like it’s second nature. With enough practice, it starts to take shape as a truly powerful weapon.
